Which Form of XOPENEX is Right for me?

Xopenex has proven to be safe and effective at working quickly to provide relief of symptoms like wheezing, coughing, tightness of chest and shortness of breath caused by asthma and COPD.

XOPENEX comes in 2 formulations: XOPENEX HFA Inhalation Aerosol (inhaler/puffer) and XOPENEX Inhalation Solution (nebulized solution). Each one has benefits that you and your healthcare provider can discuss.

What is XOPENEX Inhalation Solution?
XOPENEX (pronounced zō-pen-eks) is a medicine that helps relieve tightening of the airways in the lungs caused by asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Symptoms can include coughing, wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. It is indicated for patients 6 years of age and older.

XOPENEX Inhalation Solution is a liquid medicine that is used with a machine called a nebulizer. The nebulizer turns the liquid medicine into a vapor-like mist so it can be inhaled. Healthcare providers may often prescribe nebulized medicine for children and older adults to help them to take their medicine properly and easily.

XOPENEX HFA: Inhalation Aerosol Ready-when-needed relief...
XOPENEX HFA is a handheld inhaler that is sometimes called a "puffer." It is a convenient treatment option for those who need quick relief from symptoms, are unable to use a nebulizer, and/or prefer taking medicine through an inhaler. The XOPENEX HFA inhaler/puffer is designed to release a measured amount of medicine with every puff, and is indicated for children four years and older. XOPENEX HFA is most often used as a fast-acting "reliever" medicine. It is taken when needed to quickly relieve symptoms like wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath associated with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Refill before you reach 80 or 200 sprays.

Discard your XOPENEX HFA inhaler after you have used either 200 inhalations from the 15g canister or 80 inhalations from the 8.4g canister. The correct amount of medicine in each inhalation cannot be assured after 200 sprays from the 15g canister or 80 sprays from the 8.4g canister, even though the canister is not completely empty. Never immerse the canister in water to determine how full the canister is. Before you reach 80 or 200 sprays, you should consult your healthcare provider to determine if a refill is needed. Do not stop taking XOPENEX HFA inhalation aerosol without consulting with your healthcare provider.
